Seiko Turtle 6309-7049 Vintage Diver
Worn, wear and marks all over the watch. Everything works 100% and the watch runs surprisingly well, given that its service history is unknown
Only the watch. No papers or original box. Built in 1981 based on serial number.
– The bezel insert is beautifully patinated by small scratches and dents. Bezel rotates nicely.
– Case has small scratches and marks all over it.
– Crystal has minor hair scratches and minor haze all over it.
– Dial apparently has got some moisture in the history. The hour markers are grainy. There’s some fading in the dial around the 7 o’clock and 9 o’clock area.
– Hands are heavily patinated. Minute hand is slightly darker than hour hand. Hour hand has some lume left but minute hand and lollipop seconds hand are pretty much out of it.
– Screw-down crown is a little stiff but works well.
– Day/date quickset works well.
– On the timegrapher (see picture) the watch runs a bit fast but beat error is minimal. After a 5-minute Seiko shake, amplitude climbed up to 210-220 degrees which in my opinion is not bad for a watch like this with no known service history.
– Caseback gasket, crown gasket and crystal gasket not checked, so I would not take the watch to water.
– Comes with an unused olive green paranato strap. Presumably original rubber strap included (keeper broken).
A beautifully patinated vintage piece which works, but could use some servicing.
